Illinois Comptroller Wants Realistic Budget From Lawmakers

(Springfield, IL) — The woman who pays the bills in Illinois is pleading with lawmakers to be realistic about the next state budget. Comptroller Susana Mendoza yesterday issued a report that says one-time fixes and unrealistic budget expectations have only made the state’s backlog of unpaid bills worse. Mendoza says lawmakers need to live within their means.
