Neoga Man Killed in Early Morning Accident
Illinois State Police say a vehicle driven by 85-year-old Cecil Hardesty was going the wrong way on I-70 near milepost 103 this morning when he collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Stephanie Chitwood, of Texas. Hardesty was pronounced dead at the scene. Chitwood and her passengers, 20-year-old Megan Vice, of Pontoon Beach, Illinois, and 23-year-old Matthew Stephenson, of Perryville, Missouri were transported to the hospital. The accident remains under investigation.
