Report: International Student Enrollment Down For Second Year
(undated) — The number of international students enrolling in U.S. grad schools is down for a second year in a row. A new report by the Council of Graduate Schools says the drop in international students was felt most strongly in public administration programs, which saw a 27-percent decline. There was a 13-percent decline of international students in science programs, and a ten-percent decline in engineering programs. The study’s co-author puts the blame partly on America’s immigration policies, and because of prospective students not believing they’d get a visa allowing them to stay in the U.S. after their studies.
