The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Knox-Stark-Peoria-Marshall-Woodford-Fulton-Tazewell-McLean-Schuyler-Mason-Logan-De Witt-Piatt-Champaign-Vermilion-Cass-Menard-Scott-Morgan-Sangamon-Macon-Douglas and Edgar counties until 3am on Friday, February 8, 2019
* TIMING…Developing this afternoon and continuing through early Friday morning.
* WINDS…Northwest winds of 30 to 40 mph with occasional gusts to 50 mph will spread eastward across the region this afternoon and early this evening. The highest winds are expected late this evening with speeds diminishing after midnight.
* IMPACTS…Small objects will be blown by the wind. In addition to the strong winds much colder temperatures will accompany the windy conditions. Dress warmly if you must be out this evening.
*PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
