UPDATE: Aurora Shooter Was Being In Termination Meeting When Shooting Began
(Aurora, IL) — Police are claiming that the man they believe shot and killed five people at a Chicago area manufacturing plant was in the process of being fired when he began shooting according to multiple media reports. Forty-five-year-old Gary Martin worked as an assembler at Aurora’s Henry Pratt Company, which makes valves. He had worked at the company for 15 years. He was in a termination meeting when he produced a handgun and started firing. Five police officers were shot as they exchanged gunfire with the suspect. Martin was killed at the scene. He had a previous felony conviction for aggravated assault in Mississippi in 1995. Police are continuing to investigate.

UPDATE: Police: Five Dead In Aurora Shooting
(Aurora, IL) — Five people are dead in today’s shooting at a manufacturing warehouse in Aurora, Illinois, west of Chicago. Aurora police chief Kristen Ziman remarked that police engaged the shooter and killed him. Ziman identified the suspect as Gary Martin. Ziman also remarked that responding police officers immediately came under fire when they arrived at the scene, and five officers were struck. Illinois Governor J.B.
