Governor Pritzker Taps Lawmaker As Replacement VA Nominee

(Springfield, IL) — Illinois Governor JB Pritzker is trying again with a veterans affairs boss for the state. The governor on Friday nominated state Rep Linda Chapa LaVia to be the state’s next VA director. Pritzker’s first nominee, Jaime Martinez withdrew her nomination. Chapa LaVia is an Army veteran and led the veteran’s affairs committee in the Illinois House.
