The Illinois Department of Transportation reports large amounts of blowing snow and ice on I-57 and I-70.
Additionally there are reports of accidents clogging I-57 near the I-74 interchange in Champaign.
The National Weather Service advises extra caution for those driving this afternoon and evening, and reports expected wind chill temperatures between 5 and 15 degrees tonight.
