Southern Illinois Leaders Make Case For Campus, Interstate Improvements
(Edwardsville, IL) — Local leaders in southern Illinois want new and better roads, and want to see the state put more money into Southern Illinois University. A group of mayors and county leaders from the southern part of the state met with lawmakers in Edwardsville yesterday to make their case for their share of a possible new road, bridge, and school building plan. Randolph County Commissioner Marc Kiehna says a new road between Carbondale and the Metro East is at the top of their wish list.
