(Chicago, IL) — Cook County officials are announcing a grand jury returned a 16-count indictment against “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett. The actor had claimed he was the victim of a hate crime attack in late January. After police investigated, they claim that Smollett asked two men he knows to help him stage the attack. Police are claiming Smollett did it because he was unhappy with his salary.
