FAA: New Data At Crash Site Led Boeing Planes Being Grounded In U.S.
(Washington, DC) — The FAA made the decision to ground all Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in the U.S. because of new data gathered at the site of the Ethiopian Airlines crash. In a statement, the FAA added the new evidence has been analyzed, though exactly what that evidence is wasn’t disclosed. Newly refined satellite data made available also led to the decision. The Black Box recorders have been recovered, but have not been analyzed. It was the second deadly crash involving Boeing 737 Max planes in six months
An FAA crew is in Ethiopia assisting the NTSB in the investigation of the Boeing 737 Max 8 plane crash that killed all 157 people on board Sunday, including eight Americans. President Trump issued the emergency order grounding the jets today, saying any plane currently in the air will go to its final destination and will be grounded upon landing.
