Midwestern States Deal With Historic Flooding, At Least Three Dead
(Omaha, NE) — The aftermath of this week’s bomb cyclone is causing major flooding to a number of Midwestern states. Flooding in some areas is a historic levels.
At least three people have died and a number of states have declared emergencies to deal with the flooding. The Missouri River is causing problems in Iowa and Nebraska, where the deaths took place. One person died when they failed to heed evacuation orders. Another died when he drove into flooded waters. The third died when he was swept away when trying to tow a trapped car. The river is not expected to crest in Brownville, Nebraska until Tuesday at more than 47 feet. That’s higher than it’s ever been recorded before.
