UPDATED: Batavia High School Cleared After Report Person With Rifle
(Batavia, IL) — Police outside of Chicago say Batavia High School has been given an all clear after an alleged threat. Police and several other law enforcement agencies searched the school and believe the person was a student athlete with a baseball bat. The school district has reopened the high school for class.

UPDATED: IL High School On Lockdown As Police Check For Person With Rifle
(Batavia, IL) — A Chicago area high school remains on lockdown while police are investigating a report of a person with a rifle. Batavia police say they were called to Batavia High School this morning after a report of a person entering the school with a weapon. They say so far, a suspect has yet to be found. High school officials posted on their website that students should wait for the all clear before heading to classes. All children that were picked up by school buses this morning will be returned home.

(Batavia, IL) — A high school near Chicago is on lockdown as police investigate reports of a man or teenager with a rifle. Police in Batavia, about an hour west of Chicago, say all units are at the local high school where an “unknown male with a rifle” is said to have walked into the school. The school was evacuated around 6:15 a.m. local time.
