EIU redshirt freshman Dustin Hatfield is the Ohio Valley Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week. Last weekend at the Mt. SAC Relays, Hatfield finished the 10,000 meter run with a time of 29:31.65. His time ranks as the fastest in the OVC this season and third-best in school history. Hatfield becomes the third EIU athlete to win an OVC Weekly Award during the outdoor season this year. Avani Flanagan was named the Female Track Athlete of the Week last week and Joe Smith was named the Male Field Athlete of the Week earlier in the season. EIU returns to action this weekend sending a split team to both the Drake Relays and Louisville Invitational.
