Wet Weather Causing Farming Delays
(Champaign County, IL) — Wet weather is causing delays for farmers. Planting season is on the horizon and fields are too wet to get equipment out to do the job. Another week of rain is expected, and it usually takes five or six days for the ground to fully dry out. While farmers aren’t too concerned yet, extended rains could mean long work hours to get seed in the ground once planting starts because of how late it is in the season.
