Lawmakers Receive Threatening Letters
(Rockford, IL) — State police are investigating after several Illinois lawmakers received what they called threatening letters in the mail. A letter to Representative Joe Sosnowski had a return address allegedly from Trooper Brooke Jones-Story and read in part “Dead people can’t collect fat state pensions.” The letter demands lawmakers fix the pension system. The ISP says it’s evaluating the information and will coordinate with other law enforcement if a crime was committed.
