Rockford Mayor Testifies In Springfield In Favor Of Gaming Expansion
(Springfield, IL) — Rockford’s mayor is taking its fight for a casino to the state Capitol. Tom McNamara testified yesterday before a House hearing in Springfield on gaming expansion. The state must approve the expansion for Rockford to get the casino it says will alleviate the city’s pension costs. The mayor said without gaming expansion, Rockford could lose jobs, tourism and revenue to Beloit’s proposed casino.
