Graduated Income Tax Amendment Moves To House

(Springfield, IL) — A graduated income tax amendment is moving forward. Senate Democrats led the way last week, unanimously supporting the amendment with no Republican support. The measure now moves to the House, where Democrats say it would provide opportunity for those in lower and middle incomes. House Republicans oppose the idea, saying the flat tax structure protects the middle class.
