(Undated) — A tip-over hazard for a piece of furniture is prompting a massive recall. South Shore Furniture is recalling more than 300-thousand chests due to serious tip-over and entrapment hazards. A two-year-old was killed and a second child was injured after the chest tipped over and fell on top of them. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the chests are unstable if they’re not properly anchored to the wall and could result in serious injuries or the possibility of death to children. The chests were sold for about 60-dollars online at Walmart, Amazon, Target and other online retailers between October 2009 and Jul 2018.
South Shore will issue a full refund and pick up the chests for free. Consumers can also send in the chest with a pre-paid shipping label from the company.
