Crews are trying to contain a massive toxic gas spill in the Houston Ship Channel. Most of the channel is closed after two vessels collided on Friday, causing the spill. A tanker ran into a tug boat that was pushing two barges, each carrying 25-thousand barrels of a gasoline blend product. One of the barges capsized and the other was damaged and is leaking. The last time the channel was closed was in March during the storage tank fire in Deer Park. It is estimated that three-day shutdown cost the energy industry about one billion dollars.
