Farmers Being Hit Hard By Trade War On Soybeans
(Peoria, IL) — Illinois farmers are being hit hard by a continuing trade war on soybeans. Demand and prices for American soybeans have plummeted since China placed a tariff on the crop. Manager of Peoria County Farm Bureau Patrick Kirchhofer says China used to be a major U.S. soybean importer and is now going to South America for them. There is no indication of when trade talks will resume between the U.S. and China.
