Nearly five kids are hit by cars every day near schools in Illinois.
With that in mind, one lawmaker wants to enforce speed cameras within school zones.
A new bill being discussed among Illinois lawmakers would allow speed cameras within an eighth of a mile of a school.
Those who’ve been directly impacted by the accidents say something needs to change.
Some say camera’s would be beneficial since police are not always in the area to catch speeders.
