(Dallas, TX) — One person is dead and several others are hurt from a crane collapse in Dallas.

Jason Evans of the Dallas Fire Department says the crane fell onto an apartment complex and parking garage. Crews are still searching the building to make sure there is no one else injured or dead. Powerful thunderstorms hit the Dallas-Fort Worth area this afternoon, bringing winds as strong as 70 miles an hour. Officials say it’s likely the winds played a role in the crane’s collapse.
