Firefighters Rescue 13 Pets From House Fire
(Decatur, IL) — A family is relieved after firefighters in Decatur were able to rescue a dog, two cats, and ten kittens from a house fire. Crews were called yesterday evening to a blaze in the 300-block of North Church Street. The two adults and one child occupying the house escaped safely and were treated at the hospital for smoke inhalation. Firefighters attempted to resuscitate another dog at the scene, but were unable to save the animal. Macon County Animal Control officers were at the scene to help care for the rescued animals.
