Pritzker Signs Abortion Protections Into Law
(Springfield, IL) — Governor J.B. Pritzker is calling Illinois the “most progressive state in the nation” for women’s reproductive rights. Pritzker signed the Reproductive Health Act into law yesterday morning. The new law requires health insurance companies to cover abortion procedures. It also blocks husbands from preventing their wives from having an abortion and ensures that doctors won’t face criminal or civil penalties for performing the procedure.
