Woman Found Dead In Home After Paxton Fire

(Paxton, IL) — New details are emerging about a woman found dead in her Paxton home after a fire. Ford County officials say 67-year-old Peggy Elkins was found on her floor Wednesday night. Investigators say she was on hospice and had congestive heart failure. The coroner says it’s likely Elkins died sometime before the fire because there was no soot found in her lungs.
