Christensen Public Defender Says Plea Offer Accidentally Released
(Peoria, IL) — A public defender for Brendt Christensen says a plea offer was made public by mistake. In court documents released Tuesday, Christensen’s lawyers say he offered to plead guilty and reveal the location of Yinying Zhang’s remains in exchange for life in prison without parole. Public defender Elisabeth Pollock said yesterday before the judge that she was unaware the plea offer was in the unsealed documents.
