Large Mobilization of Illinois National Guard Held In Bartonville
(Bartonville, IL) — Hundreds of men and women in Bartonville are preparing to deploy to Afghanistan. Troops with the IllinoisNational Guard 1st Battalion, 178th Infantry Regiment were honored last night at Limestone Community High School. About 400 troops will be heading overseas, the largest mobilization of Illinois guardsmen and women in nearly a decade. Soldiers will be headed to Fort Bliss in Texas for training before deploying in December.
