Pritzker Signs Bill Upping Penalties For Scott’s Law
(Springfield, IL) — Drivers in Illinois who hit roadside workers or fail to obey construction zone signals could now face enhanced fines and possible jail time. Governor J.B. Pritzker’s signed a set of bills yesterday aimed at protecting law enforcement, first responders, and road workers. One bill focuses specifically on violations of Scott’s Law, which requires motorists to slow down and move over if possible when approaching emergency vehicles.
