Vermilion County State’s Attorney Announces Re-election Bid
(Danville, IL) — The top prosecutor in Vermilion County is announcing her bid for re-election. State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy, the first female to hold the office since her election in 2016, says she wants to continue to build on her successes. Under the Republican’s direction, defendants are no longer being released to avoid violation of the 120-day speedy trial act. Lacy is the first Republican to announce her candidacy, while former Assistant State’s Attorney Sandra Lawlyes announced her run for the Democratic nomination last month.
