Illinois’ Newest Law Offers Protections For Domestic Violence Victims
(Springfield, IL) — Some domestic violence victims in Illinois will get to keep their addresses secret under the state’s newest law. Governor JB Pritzker yesterday signed a law to allow victims in some cases to keep their address out of police reports and court filings. The governor says the idea is to allow victims to have some sense of privacy, and not to give abusers more information that they can use.
