ISP Not Ready To Issue Required Certifications To Gun Dealers
(Springfield, IL) — The Illinois State Police are not ready to issue now-required certifications to gun dealers. The agency was supposed to begin issuing state certifications to federally licensed gun dealers on July 17th. Officials say the rules required to implement the law that was signed in January still haven’t been established. Gun dealers who have applied under the Firearm Dealer License Certification Act are able to continue operating as if they’re certified.
