Purdue Pharma Offers 10 to 12-Billion Dollars to Settle Opioid Claims
(Undated) — Purdue Pharma is offering to settle opioid lawsuits across the country by paying 10-to-12-billion-dollars. NBC News confirms that the potential deal was discussed by Purdue’s attorneys and owners, the Sackler family, in a confidential meeting last week. The pharmaceutical company is facing more than two-thousand lawsuits claiming the company sales practices were deceptive and helped sustain the opioid crisis. This comes after a federal judge ruled yesterday that Johnson and Johnson must pay 570-million-dollars to the state of Oklahoma for its role in the epidemic.
