According to Illinois State Police, there was a fatal traffic crash that occurred in the early afternoon hours on Thursday in Shelby County. Preliminary investigation details state that a 2000 Buick LeSabre driven by Dustin Haun, 28, Shelbyville was sitting at a stop sign on northbound Shelby CR 1945E at Route 16, preparing to turn west onto Route 16. The other driver, name currently held, was driving a 2015 Harley Davidson Motorcycle along Route 16 traveling east when Haun pulled out into the intersection resulting in the motorcycle striking the Buick in the eastbound lane. The motorcycle driver died due to injuries sustained as a result of the crash, and Haun was transported to an area hospital for evaluation. Haun was cited for failure to yield.
