Dorian Slows Down, Gains Strength
(Miami, FL) — For many in Florida, this will be another day of loading up on food, medicine, fuel, supplies, and cash as Hurricane Dorian storms toward the Sunshine State. The National Hurricane Center says Dorian is now packing maximum sustained winds of 110 miles per hour. It has also slowed down a bit, meaning landfall may not happen until Tuesday. Where exactly the storm will roar ashore is still up in the air. Governor Ron DeSantis is telling people on his state’s east coast they need to have enough essentials to last seven days. He’s declared a state of emergency for all of Florida.
In neighboring Georgia, Governor Brian Kemp isn’t taking any chances either when it comes to Hurricane Dorian. He issued a state of emergency yesterday for a dozen counties along the coast.
