Category 3 Hurricane Dorian Still Hardly Moving
(Undated) — Hurricane Dorian is expected to begin the much-anticipated slow track to the north later today. The hurricane is forecast to turn more to the north by Wednesday evening and then turn to the north-northeast by Thursday. The National Hurricane center says Dorian will likely take a path that is “dangerously close” to Florida’s east coast late today through Wednesday evening. The official forecast still calls for Dorian’s center to stay offshore, but it will only take a small wobble for Florida to experience more of Dorian’s worst.
More gradual weakening is expected, but the hurricane center says Dorian is likely to remain a major hurricane for the next few days. It’s currently packing sustained winds of 120 miles per hour as it crawls away from the Bahamas at just one mile per hour.
