Illinois Attorney General Joins Others In Sending Letter Asking For Details On Immigrant Medical Care Cases
(Springfield, IL) — The Illinois Attorney General is looking for answers on immigrant medical care cases. Kwame Raoul is joining Attorneys General from other states to ask the federal government for details after it decided to stop hearing requests from immigrants who want to stay in the U.S. to pursue medical treatments. A letter from the participating Attorneys General was sent to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office and to ICE. It asks them how immigrants can get deportation deferrals if they are facing severe medical conditions.
