The accident that shut down a portion of I-70 near the Martinsville exit last night and into this morning involved four tractor-trailers.
According to the Illinois State Police, Danielia Kimball, of Mattoon left the roadway, crossed the median and side-swiped a rig driven by Eldar Beganovic, of St. Louis. Both rigs overturned. Two other eastbound rigs struck Kimball’s tractor-trailer.
Kimball was air-lifted to Carle Hospital. Another driver, Malcolm Smith, of Lithonia, Georgia was transported to Regional Hospital.
