Green Wave Author and Pharmacist Gives God the Glory
A Mattoon native who recently published her second book has scheduled a book signing for Sept. 27 at the Mattoon Public Library.
Lisa (Nale) Wilt is a 1983 Green Wave grad who attributes her success as a pharmacist and author to God. After completing her training at St. Louis College of Pharmacy, she married David Wilt, a physician from Kansas City.
Though they still live there, Lisa visits her parents, Cliff and Rose Nale, in Mattoon regularly. Lisa speaks of Mattoon often in her books sharing “I want a life like the rich, fertile soil in Mattoon, that is as soft as potting soil thanks to glaciers that scraped a gold mine of topsoil straight to the fields of central Illinois. Growing up, I never thought our soil was special. Then I moved to Kansas City with flat fields of hard clay. It does produce wheat, but not without the farmer’s fight.”
Like Chicken Soup for the Soul, Lisa’s books are encouraging and easy to read. They point to God through Scripture and everyday experiences. Lisa opens her first book, Windows of Wonder: Discovering Extraordinary W.O.W. Moments in the Ordinary sharing, “Our screen door never latched, which wasn’t a problem because no one in the quiet town of Mattoon, Illinois, locked their doors.”
You might find yourself in one of her stories from Lytle Pool, Lake Paradise, the Mattoon mall or St. Mary’s School! Lisa’s second book Glimmers of Glory: Discovering God-moments in the Gloomy has just been released on Amazon. All proceeds from Lisa’s books benefit Christian charities.
Lisa would love to meet you at her book signing at the Mattoon Public Library on Friday, September 27th at 9:00-10:30. Residents will receive a 50% discount along with a personalized gift ribbon bookmark.
