School Board Called Out For Violating Open Meeting Act
(Mahomet, IL) — The Mahomet-Seymour School Board is being called out for violating the Open Meeting Act. One board member says people are concerned that the board is picking and choosing policies to follow and ignore, which violates the act. Those attending yesterday’s meeting talked about how the five-minute time limit for speaking is unevenly applied. Board member Ken Keefe is also under fire for profiting off a percentage of fundraising from a PTO event. Keefe resigned from the PTO but is still on the school board.
