Three people were injured in an accident near Olney last night. Illinois State Police say 31-year-old Dustin Kermicle, of Olney was traveling at a high rate of speed near 3740 North Cottage Hill Road when his vehicle skidded out of control, ran off the roadway, struck a ditch/embankment and then overturned onto the roadway. Kermicle was transported to Carle Richland Memorial Hospital by ambulance. Two passengers, 32-year-old Mendi Williams, and 31-year-old Cody Cessna, both of Bridgeport, were ejected from the vehicle and were air-lifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Kermicle is charged with DUI-alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to wear a seat belt, and illegal transportation of alcohol. Charges against the passengers are pending. |
