A Mattoon man was air-lifted the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana after breaking windows and jumping out of his second-floor apartment this morning. According to the Mattoon Police Department, officers were dispatched at 1:40 in response to reports of a man screaming in the hallway of the building in the 2300 block of Prairie. The man, whose name was not released, is in stable condition.
