Race Is On To Harvest Corn, Soybeans In Illinois
(Chicago, IL) — Farmers across Illinois are racing against the clock to bring in their corn and soybean crops. Historic flooding and heavy spring rains left many farmers planting late, which means a late harvest. Farmers are hoping to get the crops in before the first frost damages or even destroys them. As of October 6th, only 13-percent of the state’s corn and eleven-percent of the state’s soybeans had been harvested.
