Illinois Death Penalty Could Come Back
(Springfield, IL) — The death penalty could be returning in Illinois. State Rep. David McSweeney has filed to reinstate the death penalty. McSweeney is aiming for the legislation to deter and reduce mass shootings, serial killings, and gun violence. The legislation is intended to be heard in the next full legislative session, set to start in 2020.
