Urbana Superintendent Suing To Get Job Back
(Urbana, IL) — Former Urbana School District Superintendent Don Owen is suing to get his job back. Owen filed suit against the district and the seven members of the school board after he was put on administrative leave and his contract wasn’t renewed. The lawsuit claims that Owen was retaliated against for questioning the possible targeting of minority employees. The school board recently audited 30 school employees, all people of color, over concerns they were hired in violation of district policies.
