UPDATED: Pensacola Hospitals Treating 11 Patients From Active Shooting Event At Navy Base
(Pensacola, FL) — Two Pensacola hospitals say they are expecting to treat eleven patients from today’s active shooter event at a Navy base. The Pensacola News Journal reports Sacred Heart Hospital says they are expecting six patients, not all of whom have arrived. Baptist Hospital says it has received five patients. Officials say there is no longer an active shooter on Naval Air Station Pensacola. The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office confirmed deputies confronted the shooter and killed him.
The shooting began around 7:00 this morning, leading to a lockdown of the base and a nearby Catholic school. More than 16-thousand people work on the Florida base. This is the second active shooting event in three days, coming only a couple of days after two people were killed at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii.

There are reports of several injuries at Naval Air Station Pensacola, which was put on lockdown. This is the second active shooter event in three days at a naval base, coming only two days after an attack at Pearl Harbor killed two people. There are more than 16-thousand people who work at the Florida base.

UPDATED: Reports Of At Least 10 People Being Treated From Active Shooting Event In Pensacola
(Pensacola, FL) — There are reports that at least ten people need medical attention at the site of an active shooting event at a Navy base in Pensacola, Florida. The Pensacola News Journal reports a spokeswoman for the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office confirmed shots have been fired on the base. Rescue personnel were heard on police scanners calling for medical helicopters to transport at least ten patients. The spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said authorities are trying to “take down” an active shooter at Naval Air Station Pensacola.
