A lawsuit against University of Illinois social workers and Brendt Christensen is being dismissed. The suit was brought by the estate of Yingying Zhang, a visiting scholar from China who was kidnapped and killed by Christensen in June 2017. He was sentenced to life in prison in July. The lawsuit claimed the social workers didn’t report Christensen’s mental issues or his mentions of killing himself and others.
