Illinois’ Tax Amnesty Pays Off
(Springfield, IL) — A lot of people in Illinois with past-due taxes have evened-up with the state. The Illinois Department of Revenue this week announced that it collected 237-million-dollars during a tax amnesty that waived late payment penalties and fees. That’s 60-million more than the state thought would come-in. All of the money will go to the state’s budget or to Illinois’ massive pile of past-due bills.
