Ford is recalling more than a quarter-million pickups in a trio of recalls to fix defects that could increase the risk of crashing or introduce the possibility of a vehicle fire.
The automaker is recalling 166,196 F-150 pickups in the U.S. due to a headlight defect that could reduce the visibility of oncoming drivers, increasing the risk of an accident.
That recall, which also includes 50,989 vehicles in Canada, covers certain versions of the F-150 in the 2018 through 2020 model years.
In a separate move, Ford is recalling 13,854 F-150s in the U.S. and another 19,679 in Canada to fix an engine block heater cable. The recall covers certain versions of the 2015-16 F-150.
The defect occurs amid prolonged exposure to heat.
