Illinois has a new director of agriculture. Governor JB Pritzker on Friday named former state lawmaker Jerry Costello the Second to head the Illinois Department of Agriculture. Costello spent years in the legislature, then headed the Illinois Conservation Police under Governor Pritzker. He replaces former western Illinois state Senator John Sullivan who resigned earlier this year in the backlash over a political insider’s email that referenced a sexual assault.
