Most Illinois Colleges Moving Coursework Online, Canceling All In-Person Classes
(Chicago, IL) — Several Illinois colleges are suspending in-person classes amid the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Illinois, Southern Illinois, DePaul, Northwestern, and Illinois State universities are the latest to move their coursework strictly online. There are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on any of the schools’ campuses, but officials say they are following the advice of state and federal health officials. Several schools have extended their spring break for at least another week to prepare online classes for students.
